Why join the Forum?

Being informed is essential, with involvement you can make a difference, by working together we have more power.

You will recall that the Forum was instrumental in, among other things

  • The opposition and actions taken, fundraisers and communications done, to keep the R43 open during the 2018 riots,
  • The successful Supreme Court interdict of 8 July 2019, against the group that threatened to block the access routes, paralyze town and CBD, we also succeeded in the appeal application. The costs amounted to R230,000 + which was funded from funding raised by the Forum. There is still about R61,000 payable. The interdict is permanent and prevents the group and individuals from henceforth blocking access routes to the town,
  • Protection of the 2018 and 2019 Whale Festival organized. Funding for extra high-level visible security regularly, and constantly dealing with the necessary intel to act preventively,
  • The key role in the preservation of HPP, and essential creation of the new Hermanus SRA and revival of the ‘new’ HPP,
  • Representation at the CPF (Community Policing Forum) as a public link,
  • The involvement in the CBD, with regard to progress in the stormwater system and other upgrading actions and many exhausting meetings thereof,
  • Involvement in fundraising and support of security and CCTV in Sandbaai,
  • Leading involvement in the creation LSU (common security unit) and also the representation on that unit,
  • Support from our neighborhood watch groups,
  • Continued participation and pressure to promote the Schulphoek process,
  • Instrumental in efforts to revive the essential tourism element for our town and constantly look for ways to support the industry,
  • The Forum web page www.wcbcf.co.za  also creates an opportunity for members to list their businesses.
  • The FORUM is an essential community communication platform for sharing relevant information that can promote prompt response.

There are still other challenges ahead, such as undeveloped areas in and around Voelklip, Sandbaai and Fisher Haven and then also the upcoming elections which could again cause typical riots.

TOGETHER we can make a difference.

We, therefore, encourage you to renew your membership and be part of the promotion and preservation of our community.

If you would like to get involved in doing business in any way, please contact us. We can not sustain it alone with just a single involvement in the EXCO.

Membership fee: (Normally only R200 per year, payable before 28 Feb for the year to 1 March to 28 Feb)
NOW - Only R100 for the remaining 6 months period until 28 Feb2022. Any larger amount will be allocated to 'donations'.
